Guerlain Coque d’Or (03) Eyeshadow Palette ($69.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a mix of beige, gold, bronze, brown, and green. This was one of the better performing palettes that Guerlain released, though I think the colors are more dupable than not, so at this price point, I would expect near perfection. It was a mix of textures, most of them underwhelming, but a few shades had better pigmentation. The wear was still problematic with shorter wear times than average.

Coque d'Or #1

Coque d’Or #1 is a light, yellowed beige with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, lightly dusty feel to it, but it didn’t sheer out and was fairly easy to use on the lid. It faded after six hours on its own, but it should be better over a primer.

Coque d'Or #2

Coque d’Or #2 is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a soft, frosted shimmer finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but it was the texture that was problematic. It was drier, dustier, and had a tendency to separate and sheer out on the lid. The product just didn’t want to adhere to the skin, and even patted over primer, it was still missing something. I noticed significant fading after six hours of wear.

Coque d’Or #3 is a muted, medium-dark bronze with warm undertones and a soft, frosted finish. The consistency was soft, a touch dusty, but it was easily blended on the lid and did not lose its intensity or opacity. It had great pigmentation that applied well to bare skin. The formula started to fade after six and a half hours of wear.

Coque d’Or #4 is a medium brown with warm, golden undertones and a pearly sheen. The texture was firmer and stiffer in the pan, which made it harder to blend out on the skin, though it had good pigmentation. On me, it wore well for seven hours.

Coque d’Or #5 is a muted, medium-dark green with subtle, warm olive undertones and a mostly matte finish. Though they share the actual physical pan, this was even stiffer and firmer than its neighbor! It was so difficult just to get any product to show up in the swatch, let alone on the eye. I felt like I had to really jam my brush in and chip away at the surface to get a modicum of product on the brush. I was able to pack it on, and it was buildable, but it is not a shade I would try to blend out much. I noticed fading after six hours of wear.
